Personalized Gift Tags

 Chalkboard gift tag.

Sometimes I hate wrapping presents-okay I always hate wrapping presents.  Honestly, I usually pawn the actual wrapping part off on my poor boyfriend (sorry!).  After, spending what seems like ages cutting, taping, tying bows...the last thing you want is for it to look like you threw it together in 5 minutes, because let's be honest, it took much longer than that.
You also want to show just how much love and care you put into that little paper wrapped box.  So how exactly do we achieve this? Easy, keep the wrapping simple itself, because it's all in the details.  Instead of giving a card, make an adorable gift tag like the one I made above for a wedding I went to.  It cost 49 cents (much less than a card!), took no time at all, and the bride and groom absolutely loved it.

Really, that's it.

Chalkboard Gift Tag
  • Chalkboard Ornament (found at Michael's for 49 cents)
  • White Craft Paint
  • Paint Brush
First, on a piece of paper, draw out how you want the tag to look.  Maybe you just want their name or maybe you want to paint a picture-no matter what practice makes perfect and pencil isn't as permanent as paint.  You can also write first with white chalk to get an idea of what you want to do and then wipe it off prior to painting.  After figuring out your design and placement, simply paint it on with the craft paint and wait for it to try.

It's that simple! And it looks much better than a pastel envelope sitting on top of the box.  You can use this idea for a wedding like I did and add the date of the wedding, it makes the perfect Christmas ornament or keepsake for after the present is unwrapped.

xoxo
